It’s 2025—time to become an indie developer
Hey, I’m Kevin. I’m an ENTJ-H type with a strong independent streak. When you’re out in the world, you shape your own persona—and online is no different. But honestly, why not keep it real and enjoy the process of being yourself?
My personal path may be very different from what most people imagine. I’ve been “rebellious” since I was young—never the type to blindly follow what parents or authority figures told me. There’s a saying in China: “A soldier who doesn’t want to be a general isn’t a good soldier.” But I’ll be blunt: I never wanted to be a general—I wanted to build my own kingdom. At the same time, I also believe: if you want the crown, you must bear its weight.
Since I started working in 2020, I’ve rarely stayed at any company longer than a year. I knew that working for others would never truly build my own long-term wealth. So each year I planned a 2–3 month break, and when the time came, I quit—no matter how good or “big” the company was. One reason was to reflect and reset my plans; another was to relax, learn what’s happening globally, and look for real pain points worth solving.
It’s risky, and it often pushes me into stressful situations. To many people it looks like self-destruction—but I enjoy the adventure. It forces me to stay focused and fully alive.
In November 2021 (during the pandemic), I worked a full-time job while starting a company and building CPS products for the Douyin ecosystem. In 2022, with ChatGPT taking off and tools like Midjourney and Stable Diffusion booming, I shifted into building AI image products based on that foundation. Around the same time I started paying close attention to “going global”, and decided to become an indie developer building for overseas markets—while still working a day job.
I build in public and have maintained at least 10k/month in additional “passive income”. This year, as the global plan continues, I’m aiming to expand MRR by 3–5x. Twitter (X) is my main source for overseas information and also where many of my customers come from.
Not every product succeeds—one person’s time and energy are limited. But I’m willing to keep investing in what I genuinely enjoy. NuxtPro is one of those products.
One quote I love and live by: “Think too much and you’ll see only problems; do more and you’ll find the answers.” Just do it.
I’ll keep sharing my experience so we can grow together. Thanks for reading and for your trust. In 2025, NuxtPro focuses on helping indie makers launch globally, offering a one-stop solution for taking personal products overseas.
Why did I create NuxtPro?
Throughout my journey, I kept rebuilding the same infrastructure again and again: authentication, subscriptions/payments, i18n, SEO…
These pieces are essential, but they’re not the core business logic of your product—yet they cost a huge amount of time and energy.
I wanted an ideal starting point: a template that integrates all these basics, uses a modern stack, and stays developer-friendly. But existing solutions were often too bloated, outdated, or hard to customize.
So I decided to build it myself and consolidate years of lessons learned into a real project. That’s how NuxtPro was born.
Its mission is simple: help developers and founders focus on innovation instead of repeatedly reinventing the wheel.
My vision
I hope NuxtPro becomes more than a code template—it should be a vibrant community where we can:
- Share experiences and lessons from the global-launch journey.
- Exchange modern full-stack best practices.
- Build NuxtPro into a stronger, more usable SaaS solution together.
